The Skylark Wethers And Pets

Wethers are castrated males, and make ideal pets. They do not have the strong odour of the entire male, and do not call, except at feed times. They are quiet , friendly, inquisitive, and good fun. A pet female also makes a good pet. These are females which are not eligible for breeding. Both wethers and pet females can be shown in their own section at shows, and have their own pet section, with an overall best pet awarded at most shows. We have done very well with our pet goats at shows over the past few years, winning the best pet at shows such as Surrey county show, Gillingham and Shaftsbury agricultural show, The National breed show, and Royal Cornwall show amongst some of them.
